Goin’ South: The Gravehaven After School Special

So it’s been 28 days since we’ve written one of these “blogs”. I really can’t wait for that word to go away but apparently it’s here to stay and it’s what you’re supposed to do if you’re in a band. Or if you’re a wannabe journalist. Or if you’re a CEO of a cardboard box manufacturing company. Or if you’re a 14 year old kid stoked about getting braces.

Lots of happenings in Gravehavenville. As mentioned in one of our previous “blogs” (grrrr) we are heading down to Deleware this weekend to play the treasured Dewey Beach Music Conference on Saturday night.  We’re getting put up in the world class, 4 Star, luxurious, Econo-Lodge Suites. And by “getting put up” I mean “paying for it ourselves”. In all seriousness, we’re really excited about this. There are a ton of great bands and music industry types attending and it’s right on the beach! Plus it’s been a while since we’ve done any traveling and we are in need of a change in scenery. All this mild fall weather and winning sports teams is absolutely KILLING US. Fuck you. Patriots gave Miami that win and you know it. Here’s the schedule sorted alphabetically by band:

I’m watching a classic episode of The Cosby show right now. The one when Stevie Wonder invites the Huxtables to a recording studio and he asks Theo if he can rap. Theo’s response: “Jammin’ on the one!”. Man, they just don’t make TV like they used to.

I’m starting to get this whole “blog” thing… you say whatever you want! It’s trendy!

Announcement - we’re going on tour starting October 3rd! We’re going to head as far down as The Tar Heal State (North Carolina for you yankees) and the dates are all (almost all) posted in the “Shows” section of the site. The van miraculously passed inspection the other day so we’re ready to go, but we’re pretty sure our brake lines were severed by the mice that took refuge in it over the winter. Funny.  Your vehicle can pass inspection without brakes but if your blinker doesn’t work you’re screwed. I guess common sense isn’t that common. We will be posting more about this over the next week so stay tuned.
